River Dunes is known as one of the premier marinas on the East Coast. It's hurricane-safe harbor, floating docks and dining club were the first qualities that attracted us. After a tour of the property, we were sold. The architecture, water, views and the vision convinced us to buy and build. Ten years ago we started on our home that would become the centerpiece of our lives in North Carolina. The photos will show the superb craftsmanship and exquisite details of the structure. We have enjoyed every aspect it offers. What the pictures don't convey, of course, are the memories that reverberate throughout the home. Friends and family have gathered here around the dining table, on the porches, by the fire. One special Christmas Eve, after dinner, we gathered on the second floor porch. It was a clear, starry night and we listened to Christmas carols. Magical! Grandchildren fishing, swimming, driving golf carts, learning to shoot: the memories abound. It's time for us to move on but we leave a beautiful, loved home waiting to be filled with new memories.
By the way, the sunrises over the creek and the Harvest moon rising in the Fall cannot be beat. It's the best view around.
